Football

Football, commonly known as soccer in some countries, is a team sport played between two teams of eleven players each. The objective of the game is to score goals by getting a spherical ball into the opposing team’s net, using any part of the body except the arms and hands, with the exception of the goalkeepers. The game is played on a rectangular field, known as a pitch, with goals at either end. The sport is governed by a set of rules known as the Laws of the Game, which are maintained by the International Football Association Board (IFAB).

Football is widely considered the world’s most popular sport, with billions of fans globally, and is played at various levels, from amateur to professional leagues. Major international competitions, such as the FIFA World Cup, attract massive audiences and are significant events in the sports calendar. Football encourages teamwork, strategy, and athleticism, making it both a competitive and recreational activity.
